"Home Care" is a simple phrase that encompasses a wide range of health and social services delivered at home to recovering, disabled, chronically or terminally ill persons in need of nursing, therapeutic treatment and/or assistance with the essential activities of daily living.

Generally, Home Care is appropriate whenever a person prefers to stay at home but needs ongoing care that cannot easily or effectively be provided solely by family and friends. More and more older people, electing to live independent, non-institutionalized lives, are receiving home care services as their physical and cognitive capabilities diminish.

Home Care reinforces and supplements the care provided by family members and friends and maintains the recipient’s dignity and independence in the security and comfort of familiar surroundings.

Patients with short term medical conditions, including recovery from accidents, illnesses and surgery. Patients with chronic medical conditions requiring ongoing care and supervision such as diabetes, emphysema, hypertension and stroke. The frail, elderly person in need of assistance with the activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding and transferring).  Individuals in need of supervision due to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Patients with terminal illness. Family and friends who require supportive or respite assistance.
